You May Be Eligible for Medicare If You:
- Are age 65 or older and a U.S. citizen, or have been a legal permanent resident for at least 5 years
- Are under age 65 with certain disabilities
- Have End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
- Usually premium-free after 10 years of work (40 quarters)
- Can be purchased if you don’t qualify
- Requires a monthly premium
- Based on your income
